PreaChin' To the Choir

They had several barrells set up with the different color liquid. u can see in the background the cups on the ground. Looks like it’ll wind up being some kind of mosaic or something. Sbux follows me everywhere!

So while exploring the area around my office, I happened o come across a bunch o’ sbux cups. Naturally I rolled my eyes first but curiosity got the best of me so I went to check it out. There were A LOT of cups all filled with different colored liquid that was definitely not coffee…

Is it weird that I need a filling and I dreamt I had it done, novicaine and all. I swear it felt like my mouth was numb in my dream… Definitely a first.

On March 11th, the Sherman Brothers got their window on Main Street, which isn’t something just anyone who works for Disney can get.

Part of the entertainment for the event was when “Mother” & “Father” from the Carousel of Progress came out and did a 10 minute medley of songs that the Sherman Brothers wrote for the Disney theme parks, and beyond.  Included are themes from: It’s A Small World, The Tiki Room, Carousel of Progress, Winnie the Pooh, World of Color, and a few more.

Personally I love the Sherman Brothers, how can you not when they wrote some songs that Disney is most known for in their movies, shows & theme parks.

my personal nightmare come true: animatronics come to life! Even though they’re stepping out of the 1920’s it’s still a scary thought. Let’s hope the hall of presidents isn’t next!

Oscars: FYI.

well the acting in in is pretty horrific!

Ok it was shown with their cover of “The Climb” that these three woman have great harmony, but this is ridiculously beautiful! I love Jill and Kate’s harmonies to begin with, but adding Kelly gives it an extra in-your-face factor!

why did the chicken cross the road…

Probably to walk on the other side where the people actually shoveled!

Dear asshole’s on Hempstead Ave. who haven’t shoveled their walkway,

Thanks so much for making my attempt to be green and conserve energy by walking to the store, equal to a death sentence. B/c of your laziness to do it yourself or hire someone, I had to make one of two very difficult choices: 1) create a new path in the untouched snow, a physically exhausting task or 2) walk in the street, which was even more traumatizing, where I not only had to dodge traffic, but the disgusting snow the cars kicked up as they passed me. So from my bottom of my now, petrified heart, thanks! oh and fuck off!

Ticket Stub Tuesday… Round Twenty-One:

After the first night of seeing the Spice Girls at Nassau Coliseum, @Mchin9 and I were hell-bent on getting tickets for night two. While my concert buddy for round one was @SimTilver, Mandy was at the show too and she and I are the only people crazy enough to see the same show two days in a row. (Actually, I have a feeling that many people did the same thing we did because the show was just that amazing).

It’s hard to imagine that this concert was already two years ago — It feels as though I was just walking through the parking lot to the coliseum with Mandy in the freezing cold. Obviously, we rocked out to the Spice Girls in the car on the way to the venue because that’s what you do when you’re on the way to a concert. You listen to the band’s music in the car on the way there, regardless of when the last time you saw them. Be it two years or 24 hours.

The Return of the Spice Girls was much more than a reunion tour. The concert told a story; there was a narrative that spoke about the history of the group. Everything from their rise to fame, known as “SpiceMania,” to the departure of Geri ‘Ginger Spice’ Halliwell during the Spiceworld Tour of 1998 is covered during the nearly two and a half hour long concert, which is broken into six acts. The six acts include all thirteen of the group’s singles and solo performances by four of the five girls.

Act 1: The Power of Five- “Spice Up Your Life,” “Stop,” “Say You’ll Be There,” and “Headlines (Friendship Never Ends)…”

Act 2: Seduce Me -“The Lady is a Vamp,” “Too Much,” and “2 Become 1…”

Act 3: Bittersweet -“Who Do You Think You Are, “Maybe,” and “Are You Gonna Go My Way…”

Act 4: Supergirls -“Viva Forever,” “Holler,” “It’s Raining Men,” and “I Turn To You…”

Act 5: Celebration -“Let Love Lead the Way,” “Mama,” “Celebration Medley,” and “Goodbye…”

Act 6: Encore -“If U Can’t Dance,” “Wannabe,” and “Spice Up Your Life (Reprise).”

While there was never any doubt in my mind that I would enjoy the show the second time around, I was actually able to enjoy it more this time that the first. On the prior day, I was so consumed with taking photos that I was really watching the concert through my camera. This time around, I had my pictures, so I was able to take in the whole show.

More thoughts on the iPad...

  • ST: I don't like the name either. It just sounds like someone from Boston is saying "iPod."
  • WTYiP: It sounds like a feminine product.
  • LOL i'd have to agree with both, but ST's made me laugh!
